8/30/10

8/30/2010 (Monday)

Today was kind of a stinky day, it was a Monday, and on top of that it was a a BIG moving day. I was tired and hungry and sore, and just plain grumpy. But we did have the most amazing sky, and awesome clouds, so they made me happy! I will miss the mountains and the views of Utah, but I am ready for adventures!

8/28/10 & 8/29/10

I really am not a fan of moving, but alas, I have to move anyway. I just don't see why all my stuff can't magically be moved for me... Yes I know I could pay movers, but I'm not rich so I must suffer.

My weekend really was based on packing. So one of Saturday's pictures showed just that. Moving. Cherie and I took the first truck load over to Erika's. I really am dreading living out of a suitcase for the next 3 weeks.

8/28/2010 (Saturday)

Then on the way home from the first load I caught this awesome picture of the sun hiding behind some clouds. I just really like how the rays of sun are only shining in half of the cloud. It's awesome.

8/29/2010 (Sunday)

Cherie and I were heading to Farmington to have dinner with her family, when we saw these creatures walking to the gas station. We quickly decided we needed evidence of this, and pulled into the gas station to get pictures!

I really love that so much random stuff happens to me!

Samiee's POTD (photo of the day) 8-30-2010

My photo contribution is of my baby girl Dayzie. Over the weekend she went on a rigorous walk with my Mom and on their way back Dayzie's back leg decided it had had enough! So she has been limping around the last day. It was sooo sad to watch! But Dayzie got lots and lots and LOTS of loves to quicken her healing. Now she is still kinda limping but she is up and at 'em again!

8-26-10 & 8-27-10

8-26-2010

Today was a fun day. But one of my favorite moments was going out to take some pictures of my neighborhood. This is a tree by the carport, and by the kids play area. So far my favorite pictures have all been ones of nature, and today isn't any different. I did get to see "The A-Team" with Cherie and Erika, but none of the pictures turned out well. Awesome movie though.

8-27-2010

I have found this amazing book swap website. www.paperbackswap.com You can list the books you want to get rid of, and when people ask for them you send them and then get credits, or free books yourself. It is awesome. So for the picture today, I took a picture of all the books I am ready to get rid of. Well the first ones I could think of.

8-25-10

8/25/2010 (Wednesday)

Today was a fun day. I actually got to spend some time with Cherie. We went for a walk to the grocery store, and I tried to find some good shots. I found this mini Christmas tree which i thought was awesome. It made everything else look HUGE.

The whole purpose to going to the grocery store was to get OJ for Cherie... she is getting sicky pants. Her body is not adjusting to the time change. It wants to stay in London time.

She looked funny carrying and chugging a giant bottle of OJ. It was awesome. I am so excited to get used to walking everywhere! I'm excited to be in a location with great public transportation!

8-24-10

Today was a good day but I forgot about my camera most of the day. I got to hear all about Cherie's adventures in Paris, London, and Edinburgh, but I just didn't take any pictures. So here is the day.

The number is the bottom right is the days to England, but it's a day off. I counted the day we fly out, so I always have to subtract 1. Oh well. Let's hope I get some good pictures today!

8-23-10

8-23-2010 (Monday)

Monday's are kind of stinky, and today wasn't much different. Still having issues, but there were a few bright moments in my day.

#1: My friend Hilary has the cutest niece who adores me. Well she was there with her Mom to pick Hilary and I up from work. On the way home Destiny (the niece) and I play a game where we switch our shoes. It always makes her laugh. She said we had to get a picture of it. So this is one of the better quality ones.

#2: I got home and found this Yorkie bar on my bed! Cherie just got back from adventures in the Motherland, and she brought me back one of my favorite treats! It really made my day!

The Weekend in Review!

I really can't wait til I get my own computer. Then I can update daily. Let's hope that it comes soon!

8-20-2010 (Friday) Another difficult day so I made a lemon cake with cool whip topping. It really hit the spot and brought me a bit of joy.

8-21-2010 (Saturday) Another blessing, I got to go to the Salt Lake temple. I laugh thinking of it though... nothing on that trip happened as planned either. I just had to laugh and enjoy the comfort of the being surrounded by love from my Heavenly Father.

8-22-2010 (Sunday) Last night I was in my room reading, when a loud banging on the front door took me out of the book. I was kinda freaked out. I was all by myself, but then I remembered we had our video phone... so I picked up the receiver and no one was there.... but I thought it would make a cool picture.

8-19-10

I got to walk around in the evening... I chose to do so to clear my head and gain some perspective. I also got to take some beautiful pictures, that made me really happy!

Being near trains made me think of my family in California. I used to always go and watch trains pass and put penny's on the track so they could get all flattened.

Being out on a summers evening made me think of family, friends, and loved ones. I know so many of us are happier outside. We like to play outside, we like to think outside, and we like to talk and listen and just be... outside.

Samiee's POTD (photo of the day)

I chose to add the picture of my new tattoo. This is my 8th tattoo and I have considered it for a very long time! The celtic heart represents the interconectedness of all things. There is no begining and no end. Also represents the mind, body and spirit.

8-18-10

8-18-2010

Today's picture is not that exciting. In the morning I wanted to take some pictures as I waited for my ride. This one is the only one that looked good.

I had planned on taking more pictures when I was done with work. But yesterday turned out to be a rotten, no good, very bad day. So I didn't take pictures. I made a cake and ate way too much of it. And I didn't want evidence of that.

So in stead I will keep the picture of the sky.

8-17-10

Today's picture was a last minute thing. I had meant to take my camera with me when I went out to dinner with Kjersti, and I had brought it, but I didn't take any pictures. So the picture is kind of a summary of the day.

Today was the day I was going to the Dave Matthews concert, but that fell through. I'm okay with that since I didn't pay anything for the tickets. But it would have been a fun adventure.

However, I did get to go to dinner and a book store with Kjersti, and I just have to say that I have the most awesome friends, and just random outings such as ours always end up an adventure and a treat!

So at Barnes & Noble I bought to books: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. The Hunger Games is a book I have wanted to read for awhile and LOADS of people love it. And Kjersti recommended Nineteen Minutes to me. I love reading, and can't wait to finish my current series so that I can start on some new goodies!

8-16-10

8-16-2010

Today's picture is really funny to me. Without talking to one another Samiee and I dressed like twinners today. Kinda freaked us both out; but also made us laugh. It's creepy how similar we are at times!

(Anyone wondering how I took this picture with my short arms.... the magic of self timer. It was really funny as we paused and waited... and waited... and waited... and giggled.)

Yikes I Need My Own Computer!

Sometimes it is annoying to only have a computer on a week day. I get behind in posting my pictures! (Sadly the only computer I use it the one at work... for now.) I am going to Sam's Club this afternoon to my myself a netbook! Woohoo!

Sorry I am getting off topic. This weekends pictures are a bit odd, but that's okay because so am I!

8-13-2010

Today's picture was not a happy one. I woke up with a puffy left eye that was watery and swollen! I didn't get a picture of the eye... cuz that was too gross. But I got a picture of the medicine! And it works wonders.

8-14-2010

Samiee and I went to and Italian restaurant and then went to see "Eat, Pray, Love" which was incredible! A great adventure. For some reason the only thing I got a picture of was my Italian soda. Odd.

8-15-2010

I think this is a really funny picture of me. For some reason I think my face looks really odd. I was trying to get a picture of the haircut, because I'm not sure that I announced that I cut my hair two weeks ago, and decided that needed to be the picture yesterday.

8-12-10

The big thing for me today was the "So You Think You Can Dance" finale, so my picture is a bit silly. It is a picture of what I was watching on TV.

I'm so happy Lauren won. I loved Robert to death, but I knew he didn't have the fan following that Kent and Lauren had. I didn't want Kent to win because he was too cocky and was letting all of the new found fame go to his head. Lauren was cool and nerdy and awkward, and an AMAZING dancer.

She really was the most consistent dancer throughout the show, except for maybe Alex, but after his injury she moved to the top place.

8-11-10

I decided to walk to the grocery story that was about 6 blocks from my house. On the way there is an old abandoned store that has some awesome old advertisements, and I knew I had to get a few pictures of it.

So this one is the picture of the day. I loved it. I love that the man is in a kilt! So it also made me think of my upcoming adventures. But really everything makes me think of my upcoming move!

These are the other cool advertisements that made me smile. I laugh when I think they're all soda ad's. And I have been soda free for 4 days! Woohoo!

I've never had a Tab, so I'm not sure what it tastes like. But without sugar it can't be that good.

I'm wondering why this Sprite add spells lemon with a "y", seems a bit odd.

I do like the taste of Pepsi, so I can imagine a Pepsi day would be wonderful.

I find it hard to believe that Coke would add life... I think the opposite is true.

8-10-10

For 8-10-10 I thought I would take a picture of one of my obsessions. I have fallen in love with reading, and can't seem to get enough. I've already read close to 30 books this year, and it only seems like the beginning.

Although saying that, when I'm in school I don't really have the time to read for pleasure. Let's hope I thoroughly enjoy my subjects, and read some amazing plays!

You can see on the left side of the picture, my other obsessions. Movies and music!

Also you can see how cluttered my room is. I need more space!

8-9-10

It was hard to get a picture for Monday. But I did it! It's not an exciting one, but it's one that represents all my worries for the day.

But never fear my miracle came through! I have my UK Visa application interview today, and I wanted to have all my paperwork ready and accounted for. The only thing missing was my financial aid statement from the school. Well it arrived yesterday! Just in time for the interview today!

Now let's keep our fingers crossed that the interview goes well, and that I get my visa ASAP!

8-8-2010

Yesterday was an awesome picture day. I took over 160 pictures! The day started with hiking, and ended with a friends birthday party. With lots of crazy randomness in the middle. So of course I had to choose a random picture to represent the day.

This is an example of what happens when Samiee and I choose to follow our own path. It seemed like a great idea at the time, but looking back on it... how on earth could we have thought that was our path for an "easy" hike!

I also put a few alternatives down for 8-8-10's picture.

These were the second set of waterfalls that we hiked to... Stewart falls. So pretty, and just so refreshing!

I almost stepped on this beautiful butterfly, I just didn't see it. But once I did, I really hoped it would stay still so I could get a good picture of it. IT DID! It's obviously photogenic.

And finally the cloud picture! I was in love with the clouds that were in the sky when we were hiking. They were so beautiful. It really was a gorgeous day for being out in nature!

A Hiking we will go!!!!

Swera and I finally made it hiking today (after months and months of talking about going!) We hiked to Bridal Veil Falls and Stewart falls in Provo Canyon. Now in our usal fashion we had to do things our own way....which is generally not the easy way. We hiked UP a steep incline on the way to Bridal Veil and as we came back down realized we had not taken the trail. DOH! Oh well....... Since the hike to bridal veil was so quick we decided to check out Stewart Falls.

Bridal Veil Falls

Me and Swera getting ready to hike bridal veil

So we parked at the Sundance resort... where mocked by the yuppie a-hole employees at the resort and paid or fee to ride the tram to the base of the hike (AWESOME!)

Sometimes being in nature is overrated......We did see a squirel! That was cool! We also saw a chipunk and a Fricken disgusting snake that tried to get Swera! I was screaming like a sissy girl when I saw it... Sarah thought I had lost my friggin mind......So off we went to find the falls!!!

Once we reached Stewart falls we ate our lunch and just soaked up the beauty in front of us..... especially the moron across from us that fell down the hill through a tree and almost into the water.... ya I laughed my ass off!!!
Stewart Falls
We once again came up with a bright idea to hike back the way we came in so we could take the tram down....... ya it is fricken uphill most of the way back! Ya stupid idea I know! But alas we made it... took a long time and several stops but we did it!!! Woohoo! Funny thing is on our way TO the falls Swera made the comment that she was "finally excited for up" ya well on our way back I was not!

Days are flying by and I always want to get the best picture ever. I couldn't really think of anything cool, until I saw this:

and it reminded me that I get to move to England in 40 days!!!! woohooo!

8-6-10

Day three... I started this one out early. On the way to work I saw a gorgeous sunrise off the Wasatch Mountains. It made me realize that I really will miss this view. I love nature, and Utah sure has a lot of it. =) Honestly though it's gorgeous, and I like that this goal I have started is helping me to see the details.

8-6-2010

8-5-10

Okay, here is day two of this shenanigans. I randomly went to the mall with my friends Hilary and Alexis, and Alexis' daughter Destiny. I was trying to find Kari a birthday present. But I ended up just having fun with the camera.

Here is the picture for 8-5-2010

Seeing a mall through a 4 year olds eyes was awesome! But I got tired real quick!

New Experiment!

As stated on my original blog, I am going to try a picture a day thing out. I was inspired by Jamie Livingston, and I want to try and document a bit of my life. I'm horrible at journal writing, and think this would be a better way to go about it. You can read about him here:

http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/15131

So the first day for me was 8/4/2010. And the best picture I took was this one.

We've had some amazing thunder storms over the last 24 hours, and I have loved it. I love the sound of thunder and the way lightening surprises us in the sky!
