Sarah's recent interests!

Okay, so I'm reading a new series... I am not as obsessed with it as I was with the Stephanie Plum series... but so far it is really interesting me... mostly because it's a murder mystery series that takes place in Edinburgh! Each of the books, the murders take place in different parts of the city. And I'm learning my more about some of the hidden nooks and crannies of my favorite city in the world! (Well I haven't been to the entire world, but my favorites of the world I've seen so far!)

The book series is by Ian Rankin, and it's called the Inspector Rebus series. There about 15 books in the series.

This HAS to be a joke.... please say this is a joke!

So I go to the Dr. for my follow up visit. Thanks to all of my much needed medications I have to go to the Dr. every 3-4 months to make sure they are doing their job. This last visit I was telling the Dr. about how tired I am lately and that even though I am not eating much I am bloated and feel like crap. He tells me he thinks I may have food allergies. Especially to milk and wheat. Hmmm I think to myself, in an effort to feel better I have been eating better.... drinking more milk etc. So the Dr. took some blood and before the results were back he advised I limit my milk and wheat in take. I did and I immediatly felt better!!

So last week the nurse calls to tell me the results of my lab work....... dun dun dun... I have to limit and or eliminate soo many things from my diet... ARE YOU KIDDING me?? Like I need 1 more medical issue now I have to limit more foods? I am not suppose to have milk, eggs, wheat, barley, chocolate, tomatoes, bananas, carrots, yogurt and tea. There are a lot of other items on the list but these are the ones that make me the most sad to go with out.
This is just really frustrating..... I am already a really picky eater. Hopefully this is not forever...........

GLEE

You have the wannabe star, the hot football player, the gorgous black girl, the gay man, the stutterer with an amazing voice, the boy in the wheelchair, and the hot teacher. Put that all together and what do you get? GLEE. It is one of the funniest shows on television right now. The teachers wife is a beast and i think he needs to be with the counciler. Who is now engaged to the football coach. Then there is the head cheerleader who is dating the head football star. She is pregnant with the football stars friends baby but didnt tell him. And of course the funny cheerleading coach who is out to destroy them. Add amazing music and you have pure genious. If you have not seen the show i strongly suggest you do.

Morbid Obsession...............

So the newest show I can't get enough of is Dexter. This Showtime drama is so captivating I can't help but watch!! I know this show is about a sociopathic serial killer that has no disernable emotions (at first). As the show goes on you see he really has strong emotions towards his sister, girlfriend and some co-workers. It is intoxicating!! I am half way through season 2........ thank heavens for netflix!!!!!!

Sarah's Stephanie Plum Cast List

Alright, so almost everyone in the office is either addicted to or reading these books, and I decided to put up one of my cast lists. This one is a little more age appropriate. Man this was too stressful. For some reason I wanted it to be perfect, and I know it's not. But it will have to do!

Steve Buscemi to play VINNIE, the gross boss/extended family member.

Reese Witherspoon as VALERIE, Stephanies sister, who used to be the perfect one.

Michael Clark Duncan as TANK, the biggest of Rangers merry men.

Ginnifer Goodwin as STEPHANIE, the girl we all want to be, and sometimes are.

Wentworth Miller as RANGER (he'd need to go tanning for a bit), the drool worthy mentor/partner/other guy in Stephanie's life.

Eddie Cibrian as MORRELLI, the on again off again fiance.

Brittany Murphy as MARY LOU (Stephanie's best friend), who's always good to have along.

Kasey Russell as MARY ALICE, the 7 year old who thinks she's a horse.

Loni Love as LULA (or as we call her LULU), the best side kick ever.

Matthew Lillard as ALBERT KLOUGHN, the annoying and cute possible brother in law.

Scarlett Johansen as JOYCE, the skank we all want to see beat up several times.

Jane Kaczmarek as HELEN "MOM" PLUM, the mom we all fear.

Larry Miller as FRANK "DAD" PLUM, the coolest cat in town.

Betty White as "GRANDMA" EDNA MAZUR, the crazy grandma we all want to be someday.

Will Arnett as DICKIE ORR, the jerkface ex husband/lawyer.

Lean Ramini as CONNIE, the kick a office manager.

Tyrese Gibson as BENITO RAMIREZ, the crazy boxer.

Elle Fanning as ANGIE, the 9 year old going on 45.

Ok, so I have another list, which I don't think I'll be putting up, but Samiee has one as well. Ha ha ha... we really are obsessed.

Plum Doplegangers.......

Ok to fill the void of no new episodes of Bones until this fall I have stumbled upon a book series by Janet Evanovitch. A co-worker recommended the series to me awhile ago and I had picked up 1 & 2 but hadn't read them until last week. Yes, I read 1 AND 2 in less than 1 week! The main character Stephanie could be my alter ego I swear! Minus her lack of tactical skills and overall pansy nature she and I could be long lost twins! This series is about a spastic, un-trained, socially awkward woman that is trying to pay the bills as a bounty hunter. Stephanie gets herself into some pretty outrageous situations.... much like I myself get into from time to time. Although I have never been shot at 3 separate times in one day nor has an embalmed penis been mailed to me and my grandmother does not make a habit of disrupting funeral services or shooting an already dead chicken in the butt while it is on the dinner table waiting to be served. I have also never had a sociopathic professional boxer break into my home and try to assault me and then leave a cut up prostitute on my fire escape. (I prefer to keep it this way)
My favorite part is the chemistry between Stephanie and Morelli! It is as good as the sexual tension between Booth and Bones!! So far book 2 is my favorite mostly because of Grandma Mazur gets into ALL kinds of trouble!

Eddie Izzard

Okay, so now we have a new obsession... yet another comedian. And oh my gosh is he hilarious. He's intelligent and not as crude as Russell Brand. And he's British, so that makes us happy. He is also a transvestite, and that makes things interesting. Our personal favorite quote is

"Do you have a Flag?"
"Cake or Death ?.... Cake please!... Very well, give him Cake."
"What are you reading... the gospel according to St. Bastard?"
"Did I leave the gas on?... No... I'm a f-ing squirrel"
"The toaster... it lies to us!"

Please.. if you haven't heard of him... look him up on you.tube!!!!

So You Think You Can Dance!

Alright so this is an old obsession of mine. I really got into it last season and watched it each week with a bunch of my friends. We could not miss a week, and we voted each week. My favorite won, and now I am even more hooked!

So the first real episode was last night, where the 10 couples each had a dance in a different style. What's funny is that I got Hilary hooked last night. She came over and we had dinner and then watched the show. (DISCLAIMER- I am about to reveal just how obsessed I am... and how that seems to be part of my personality. Samiee and I giggle about our obsessions... I mean come on we have a blog about our obsessions.) Well I also had to tape the show because my roommate Cherie wasn't going to be there to watch it. So Hilary and I watched all the dances, and wrote down our favorites and then voted. (Well Hilary had to vote for me because I kept getting a busy signal whenever I tried.) Well Cherie came home and guess what... we re-watched all of the dances! No joke... I really am obsessed.

You can see my analysis of it on my other blog www.smjagger.blogspot.com

PS Samiee I think you need to become obsessed with this show.. it's awesome! I have Hilary on my side, and I also know that Rachel Mecham, Courtney, and Kathy all love it!

Book Club!

Okay InnerLight Posse (Friends and Family), and anyone else who is randomly checking out this blog... I would like to start some sort of book club, or reading club. I would like input. So please feel free to post a comment on your thoughts on the subject of book club/movie club.... The End.

Here are a few sites on Best Books:
http://www.randomhouse.com/modernlibrary/100bestnovels.html
http://www.best100novels.com/

And for Movies:
http://www.best100movies.com/
http://www.afi.com/docs/tvevents/pdf/movies100.pdf

I'm just in the mood for a club. Who's with me!

Ok here is MY personal input into to Sarah Samiee Reading Club: Because Sarah was soooo insitant I read this book NOW before the movie comes out.... I went out and picked up a copy of mine own!! Thus far I really like the book. I am 245 pg into it and this is my personal summary:

1.Anna is wise beyond her 13 years
2.Kate is a victim of circumstance.
3. Sarah- the mother is a heartless Biotch
4. Brian the Dad is his wifes little Biotch
5. Jesse the Brother is a little shit that needs to be taught a serious lesson and I would be happy to be the one to kick his trash into shape
6.Campbell the lawyer is a douche... Why can't he just tell everyone up front why he needs judge? At this point I think he uses Judge and a reason to deflect his arrogance by making others think there is something wrong with him and he can get away with his "douche-ness"
7. Julia is a lot like me and I like her. (minus the lesbinim twin)

Overall I enjoy the book and really hope the movie is as good. I know I am going to cry and therefore will HATE the movie for a period of time.... I hate CRYING! Loved the book The Notebook, Hated the movie

Our First Obsession Together

Alright, so I moved to Utah in late July, and started searching for a job. Now I got bored after sending my resume to 30 different jobs, so in between interviews and checking my emails I started reading the Twilight series. Now my friends had been telling me about them since I was on my mission, and I vowed I would not read them because I thought they were lame. We curiosity got the best of me. I started reading twilight on a day I didn't have any interviews... and I finished it in a day!
Then I knew I was hooked... I needed to know what happened next.

So the next day I started reading New Moon, and I had several interviews, so I took it along and read it between interview and lunch. I finished that book in two days. Again I had to know what happened next. The books are so dang catchy and Stephenie Meyer's writes in such a way that you are drawn into her world almost automatically.

Now I was reading eclipse when I had my first interview at InnerLight. I had no idea that the entire call center were just on the verge of reading Breaking Dawn. It was coming out that weekend. Again.. I had no idea how big these books were at this point. I didn't even know that they were making a Twilight movie yet. I have no idea how I was so completely naive about this world... until I was sucked in. I read eclipse in about three days. And at this point I was facing my second interview at InnerLight. And that was when I met Samiee... she was coming to the front door to feed a wandering duck some Wheat Thins. Sorry... I will get back to the obsession.

Now I started Breaking Dawn the day before I got hired at InnerLight. Unknown to me, the frenzy of reading Breaking Dawn had already started in the Call Center. (Matt told me that Samiee pre-ordered it at Amazon.com, and had it sent to the office so she could get it quicker... I know now that she has all of her packages sent here... it wasn't just Breaking Dawn) Now Breaking Dawn is a long book... and so it took me like 4-5 days to read it I think. Or I might have read it quickly and then went back and read it again. I'm not quite sure which. But Hilary and I were reading it at the same time.

Then once we had all completed the story... we couldn't wait for the movie. We were so excited to see any trailers or clips that we found on the Internet. And then opening night Hilary, Rachel Mecham, and Dennis all went together to see it. I know Dennis was dragged along, but he was a good sport. I wish I could say that the obsession was quenched then. Sadly, it wasn't. Hilary and I went to see it 3 more times in as many weeks. Then slowly that obsession dwindled to make way for the next one. We really seem to jump from one to another. But this was our first link to one another... awww.... so cute! (Sorry for the sappiness!)

Oh I will confess that most of us read the 240 leaked pages of Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edwards perspective.) Yeah... I know... we're obsessed. But something tells me we won't be as obsessed when New Moon comes out this year. But we'll see, we might relapse.

Things WE (Sarah and Samiee) find funny

OK here are a list of things/people we find funny and also WHY we (Sarah and Samiee) think it is funny!

When we are "bored"* at work.... we send eachother clips from youtube of the funny people listed below. It brightens everyones' day to hear us, Samiee especially, giggling then the clips eventually get shared amongst the group!
* I say "bored" b/c that NEVER happens! hehehe

Here are some current faves:

*Chelsea Handler-She is just funny and has a HILARIOUS and innapropriate nickname for her father!!

*Russell Brand-"You had me at BITCH BOY!" Go check him out on http://www.youtube.com/ Russell Brand in New York

*Tim Minchin-"If you open your mind to much... your brain will fall out!"

*Jo Koy-"SANK A YOU!!! OWANGE CHICKEN!"

*Loni Love- aka Black Magic

*Squint Squad- From BONES... their lack of social skills make me and Sarah feel like pop star icons!!!

* Jim Gaffigan- " Kitty wants some candy!"

Bones!

Okay so we are totally obsessed with bones... for example... yesterday was Memorial Day... and how did we celebrate? Have a Bones marathon of our favorites! Now we have had this planned for quite some time, and to my surprise... TNT has stolen our idea. Now they showed episodes from only the second season... whereas we were diverse and picked favorites from the three seasons available on DVD.

The ones we watched were...

-Man in a Bear (Season One)
-Two Bodies in the Lab (Season One)
-Man in the Morgue (Season One)
-Aliens in a Spaceship (Season Two)
-Lady in the Sand (Season Two)
-Mummy in the Maze (Season Three)

I can think of no better way to spend a holiday! Watching Bones... eating one and a half medium pizzas, and downing a whole 2 liter of Dr. Pepper!

Good Day!
