26 March 2011- Day 235
Saturday
Tilly, our landlady's dog is PREGNANT!!!! I am so excited. She is due in like a month, and she's having 2 possibly 3 puppies! They did a scan to find out!
Tilly is one of the few dogs that I'm not allergic too. I am also happy to share that there are two breeders of Glen Terriers in the Bay Area back home! So hopefully I will be able to get on a waiting list to get myself a puppy like Tilly someday soon!

25 March 2011- Day 234
Friday
Today I got to go to the temple. I was a much needed trip. I got to see the grounds, the distribution center, and the go inside. There is just such an amazing feeling in there. I always feel at home, no matter what temple I go into.
I needed a little boost as I come into the final two weeks of the term!

Samiee's photos from Holi fest 2011
This was the first year I have ever attended Holi fest at our local Krishna temple. I was amazing. Such a sense of peace when you are there among thousands of people throwing colored chalk Holi is a Hindu celebration of the Colors of Unity & Brotherhood - an opportunity to forget all differences and indulge in unadulterated fun. It has traditionally been celebrated in high spirit without any distinction of cast, creed, color, race, status or sex. It is one occasion when sprinkling colored powder ('gulal') or colored water on each other breaks all barriers of discrimination so that everyone looks the same and universal brotherhood is reaffirmed.
This was about 10-15 minutes AFTER the first color throw. I attempted to wear a mask to keep from inhaling the chalk into my sensitive lungs.... It didn't help much as you can see the purple all around my mouth and nose.... I was blowing purple boogie for hours. So I escaped the crowed and took refuge on the side lines to watch.
Can you imagine thousands of people coming together to erase all social barriers to join in harmony?? If only everyday was like this.
My big brother couldn't wait to throw chalk in my face :) It was all in love of course.
Dirty mouth?

Friday
Today Annie, Allison, Beckah and I decided to adventure to Broadstairs to see a bit of the coastline. Well it was rainy, cold, windy, and wet, and basically all of Broadstairs is closed.
Saying that, we did have a lot of fun, but the weather, and the time of year just cut our day short.
We made it to the beach... to the Dickens house. It was closed. All the shops around the beach were closed. This is when we started to sense a pattern.
Crompton Tower was also closed. But it opens for the tourist season TOMORROW!
We really don't need any help amusing or entertaining ourselves.
Proof of our rainy day adventures!
In the words of Allison kind of quoting Casablanca... "We'll always have Broadstairs!"

Thursday
Happy St. Patty's day! Beckah and I forgot what day it was and went adventuring in London without any green on. But we had a fantastic day none the less. We started our day with a trip to the National theatre, then went to see the London Eye, then Big Ben, and Parliament Square. Then on to Westminster Abbey, then to Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and finally walked through SoHo, and Oxford street in search for an H&M to buy a green shirt. Well when we finally found an H&M we weren't in the mood for shopping any more and headed home for the day. We were exhausted.
First picture is me waiting outside the Westminster Tube stop. We're waiting to cross the street, and for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to make this face.
Beckah found this cool gargoyle on the side of Westminster Abbey.
Victoria Monument outside of Buckingham Palace.
Our awesome self portrait right in front of the Victoria Monument.
Beckah hugging a lonely and abused Willow in Hyde Park.
We took so many more pictures, but these are the ones with the most character. It was another awesome day.

Wednesday
Today was our first day in London. We went to Covent Gardens, the Globe, The New London Theatre, Oxford Street, Leicester Square, and other stuff. It was a fantastic day. Got to see Allisoni and her family. Got to see War Horse, which is probably the best live theater production I have seen in years. And got to spend a day in London with some of my best friends.
First picture is of this cute theater and puppet store in Covent Gardens.
And the other picture is of Kathleen and Jesse on the Tube.
Not a bad day if I do say so myself!

Tuesday
Today we all had class so we could only show Beckah around Canterbury. Our first historic stop was Eastbridge hospital on high street. It isn't what we would consider a hospital but was about hospitality. Poor Pilgrims heading towards the cathedral would stay there. It is an old fashioned B&B.
Beckah had to sit in the naughty chair.
Then we took the public footpath by the Westgate Tower, and found the tree from Ferngully. It really looked like Hexus!
And then further down the path we found an exercise path, and Beckah got a workout!
All in all it was a good adventurous day!

Monday
Beckah is here! Jesse and I took the train to Heathrow to pick her up, and it's just been an adventure getting home, and keeping her awake so she can get over her jetlag as quickly as possible!
It's interesting. We all thought it would be a shock to see her here in England, but it just feels like it's normal. It's cool. I'm excited to see what adventures we have this week!

Sunday
Tonight Jesse, Kathleen, and I were in an "I miss America" mood so we decided to watch Independence Day. I'm not sure what happened but I caught Jesse trying to pants Kathleen, and her holding up her pajama pants. It's a funny scene.
Okay, now that I think about it. It looks like Jesse was trying to give Kathleen a wedgie.
All in all, a pretty normal Sunday.

Friday
So... I had become lazy in my working out, and I needed a bit of motivation to get started. That motivation came in the form of a four year old named Esther. On pancake night, after gorging myself on carbs, Esther informed me that I was fat. I then knew I had been lazy for far too long, and needed to start working out again.
Today was the new start. So I thought I should mark that with a picture. (But not one of me, because I was a sweaty mess.)
Thus the picture of my girly weights that I use in my workout videos.
