My horoscope the other day said , "People may try and burst your bubble by making you feel like the grass is greener on the other side. Sit back and realize that the grass is just as green as you need it to be in the very spot where you are sitting."
This really, really spoke to me. Especially because at the time I was sitting in a hotel room in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I had just returned from having dinner and drinks with my co-worker/partner. It had been an especially crappy day for me at work. I hadn't sold much on what was expected to be the busiest day of the whole expo. It wasn't for lack of trying on my part but it was what it was. This is just what I needed to hear while being so far from home.
These days while being on the road traveling from expo to expo I think about the following things: closest free wifi, cell reception and the nearest restaurant/grocery store. While I am just getting started at this new endeavor I have these fleeting thoughts about whether I made the right choice. Should I have taken the standard 9-5 desk job because it is the "safe" choice? Because it guarantees a steady income and health insurance? Or do I take the path that is less certain?

Friday
I was able to lose a bit of weight when I was sick, and I want to continue to do so. (Lose weight, not be sick.) So I went for a run today. Now I use the term run loosely, it really was a slow jog. But still... I was exercising!

Today was awesome. We had scrabble dinner night! Now I'm not usually a scrabble lady, but this was fun. Jesse ended up winning, and had to gloat about it. Also he had to give Annie a horrible back massage. It was hilarious.

I finally had quite a bit of down time, so I decided to clean up the house. I loved that I could do a bit of service, and just clean up our home. Plus who does love blasting good music while cleaning! I think my roomies loved my need to clean as well.
Then I went out for a walk around the estate. It really was a beautiful day. It was warm enough that I could wear my shorts!

Today was a day of struggles. Studying and trying to write. It was not nearly as productive as yesterday. I barely wrote 1000 words. So the next few days will be much of the same I am afraid. Typing typing typing!

So I'm sick, and yet I was able to be productive! I wrote my thesis proposal! And oh man does it feel good to finish an assignment. Now onto the 4000 word research essay! Ick.

I have been attacked by the flu. It literally hit me in a hour. I woke up completely healthy besides a tiny scratch in my throat. The next hour saw me with a fever, then chills, coughing up mucus, and sneezing every few seconds. I don't think it could have hit at a worse time. I have a 4000 words research essay due, and 2000 word research proposal due.
I'm staying hydrated, medicated, and rested so I hope this will pass soon!

Our house is cursed for lights. We go through a pack of light bulbs at least every fortnight. So now we have started using our Christmas lights to light the rooms in our house. It is really silly.

Kathleen has decided to always have flowers in our home, and I think it's a great idea. Flowers always bring a smile to my face, and seem to make our home feel more home-y. Plus who doesn't love tulips!

Today we had the sister missionaries over for dinner. We had to rehang our Christmas lights since all the lights in the living room area had burned out. Really I think it gave a cozy romantic feel to the place!

All of us went on a wonderful walk around Chilham. It was a beautiful day, and although the paths were REALLY muddy, we all had a blast. I thought would share some of my favorite pictures!
I've come to discover that fall and winter here in Chilham remind me of how I envision Jane Eyre, and when I see pictures of the spring and summer I think of Pride & Prejudice. I'm weird.

December Catch Up!
27 December 2010- Day 146
Monday
This is not a pretty sight. This is day three in the same outfit. I had to document it because of it's awesomeness! The softest outfit ever. Sadly I was starting to smell by day three.

I decided to try and snap out of my lazy haze and did a butt load of laundry! Bedding, towels and all! It was awesome.

Wednesday
For some reason I got it in my head that I should start uploading all my music onto my netbook. Because it's a PC I have window's media. So I spent a good chunk of the day copying my music to that program. It actually felt like I was accomplishing something... besides eating chocolate for breakfast. Ha ha ha

I found out that I-tunes is a free download, so I spent most of the day trying to change over programs. I felt like I had wasted most of the previous day. But on an up note I get to listen to some of my music, now that it's on my netbook. Oh and on a random note, I have 2G's worth of Aerosmith music. Hahahaha

Jesse and I decided to ring in the new year by watching ALL of the mini series "The Pacific." It was done by the same people who did "Band of Brothers" and it was awesome! Nothing welcomes in a new year like watching 10 hours of the Pacific theater of WWII.
To be honest it really is incredible, and I have to take off my hat to the courageous soldiers who bravely fought, and continue to fight for their countries.
And finally I would like to say PEACE OUT 2010. It's been crazy, it's been fun, and it's been adventurous! I'm excited to see what 2011 brings us?!?!?!?
